Handmade Jewellery

Will the jewellery have a hallmark?

Hallmarking is not a requirement for items less than 7.78g.

To have silver jewellery officially hallmarked it needs to be sent to the London Assay office where it would be stamped with our own makers mark. To hallmark your jewellery it will incur an additional charge of £30 and add approximately two weeks to the delivery.

Will I see the detail in a hand or footprint?

A little detail is lost but we endeavour to ensure strong markings are visible.

Our ink-less wipe kits can be used on the day baby is born and prints can easily be taken by parents and baby’s hands and feet stay clean!

Can you make more than one charm with the same print?

Yes. Multiple charms can be made from the same print.

How do you know whose prints are whose?

Enclosed within each print kit is a form, please complete with each child’s or pet’s name and also write the name under the print. If you are supplying existing prints, please note these details when emailing/posting or uploading your prints.

I already have my prints can you use them?

Yes. You can upload a copy on our website or alternatively send it by email momentoesgifts@yahoo.co.uk or post it to 34 Beaufort Avenue, Blackpool FY2 9HG. When you place your order. (please don’t send the original)

Is it just hands and feet you can transfer on to jewellery?

No, it can be hands, feet, baby scan, kiss, child’s drawing, pet nose prints or paw prints.

We can do most things that can be printed onto paper.

I have sent several prints which one will you use?

The best print will be used if you have a specific print you wish to use please mark the print and confirm your request when supplying your prints. If we feel it may not give the best result we will contact you.

Can you use the same prints again if I re-order?

Yes, we aim to keep a copy of your prints on file for 12 months, this is not a guarantee.

If we already hold a copy of your prints from a previous order please pick – you already hold a copy of your prints from a previous order.

How long will it take to receive my jewellery?

The jewellery is hand crafted and handmade. We aim to supply your order within 14 – 21 working days of receiving your prints. It may be possible that you receive your jewellery before this but at busy periods it may take the full 21 days.

Will I see the detail of the finger print?

All finger prints are unique and take time to develop. Finger prints are often more defined in children over 2 years of age. If your child is very young doesn’t have defined prints often the fine lines don’t transfer and it’s more of an imprint. Instead you could take a print of the child’s nail or opt for a hand footprint.

Will my handmade jewellery be flawless?

The jewellery isn’t made by a machine, it is handcrafted to a high standard. Therefore each piece is slightly different and totally unique.

Can you make a bespoke design?

Is there a limit to the length of name you can engrave on the handmade jewellery?

Some of the pieces are quite small and are limited to a date or initials. Please see individual descriptions for the options.

Please check your spelling and dates before adding your gift to the shopping basket as any mistakes made cannot be rectified once the order has been processed.

Can I have a different print on each cuff-link?

Yes, there is a small additional charge for this. Please select the option when ordering.

Is there an age limit?

Hand, foot and paw prints can be any size or age as all prints are made smaller.

Jewellery Care

How do I care for my handmade silver jewellery?

Silver tarnishes naturally and will tarnish faster in humid environments. Try not to let your charm come in contact with lotions, perfume, wool, food, rubber bands, latex gloves and certain paints. Oily salts from your fingers can tarnish silver.
Avoid swimming whilst wearing your charm, chlorine can permanently damage or discolour your silver jewellery. Remove before using the shower, bath or cleaning.

How can I clean my jewellery?

You can remove light tarnishing by using a gentle washing up liquid and warm water. Carefully brush with a soft bristle brush, such as an old toothbrush. After brushing, simply rinse with lukewarm water and allow to dry. Do not brush over your fingerprint as this may damage your print.

Alternatively polish with a silver polish or a silver cloth. Try to avoid the print as may cause damage. Avoid using dipping silver as this could damage the print and remove any antiquing effects.

How should I store my jewellery?

Individually wrap each charm and keep away from other pieces of jewellery to prevent rubbing.

Will my handmade jewellery charm mark?

Silver is a soft metal and it will naturally mark if scratched and knocked when worn, this adds to the charm and the appeal of a handmade piece.

Spelling, Dates & Grammar

Please, check your spelling, dates and grammar before adding your gift to the shopping basket as any mistakes made cannot be rectified once the order has been processed. How it appears here will be how it appears on the product, including spacing and punctuation. Please do not include accents and special symbols as some of our processes will not allow this. This includes accents above and below the alphabetical or numerical text.

Please refrain from using all capitals in your personalised message. If the message is all in capitals you will find the personalisation extremely difficult to understand and may even result in personalisation being missed off the product.

Will it look the same as your photo?

Please note that the colour of the product you receive may not match the colour as displayed on your computer monitor.

Can I cancel my order?

For most items, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 7 working days of receiving the goods. However this does not apply to personalised or customised items made specifically for you. However we will except returns under the following circumstances

  • If the name or message doesn’t appear as stated on the order.
  • It is faulty.
  • The product delivered does not match the order.
Will the layout of the prints and texts be exactly the same as the photos on the website?

The layout will depend on the number of prints and the amount of text that is to be engraved. We will engrave the gift to give you the best possible result and the best fit. You may find that this may differ from the photographs shown on the website.

Ordering & Delivery

Are there any hidden charges?

No, all prices include postage  and packaging on all items delivered within the UK.

Please contact us for a quote for International Delivery. Any customs or import taxes applied are your responsibility.

What happens if my print doesn’t turn out the way I want it to?

If you think your prints haven’t worked you can e-mail them to me and I can tell you if they are suitable. Alternatively you can purchase an additional kit.

Which delivery service do you use?

Orders up to £50 are sent by Royal Mail signed for this has compensation up to £50

Orders over £51 are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

These orders are fully tracked and fully insured and will aim to deliver the next working day before 1 pm. ( not including weekends)A signature is required.

This has compensation for loss and damage up to £500.

How long will my order take?

Handmade items take between 14-21 working days from receiving your prints, though during quieter periods you may receive your order sooner.

Machine engraved items take between 7-10 working days from receiving your prints.
